In 2022, Budapest Borfesztivál — a venerable cultural and wine-centric event held at the historic Buda Castle — launched a bold new visual identity to honor its prestige while modernizing its presence. Drawing on the festival’s rich heritage and the grandeur of its setting, our task was to create a brand system that felt both timeless and contemporary.

Crafting a new identity for one of Europe’s most beloved wine festivals meant respecting its storied tradition while breathing fresh life into its visual language.
Crafting a new identity for one of Europe’s most beloved wine festivals meant respecting its storied tradition while breathing fresh life into its visual language.
Crafting a new identity for one of Europe’s most beloved wine festivals meant respecting its storied tradition while breathing fresh life into its visual language.
We needed to evoke the elegance of Hungarian wine culture and the majestic ambiance of the Buda Castle, without creating something overly formal or disconnected from today’s audiences. At the same time, we faced a practical crossroads—ensuring the brand was versatile enough for diverse applications, from wayfinding signage and program guides to social media assets and responsive website elements. The visual system had to carry the festival’s refined tone across formats and scales, maintaining cohesion and impact.
